Spirulina

It is the world's most valuable source of plant-based protein and is also rich in iron and calcium, which is why it is considered a superfood. Provides a daily dose of strength and energy.

The very high protein content (65-70 grams per 100g of food, compared to 20-25g in a cut of lean meat), the richness of vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids and other nutrients make spirulina highly energizing.

It is particularly useful and nutritious not only for athletes, sportsmen and for those who lead an intensely dynamic life but also for those who lead a sedentary lifestyle and need daily energy sources.

At the United Nations World Food Conference, spirulina was defined by the FAO “the best food of the future” thanks to its high yields and high nutritional content.

Among the other valuable nutrients of spirulina, we have:

✔ Unsaturated fatty acids: They are able to protect the brain from aging, keeping it very active;

✔ Plant pigments: They have a beneficial effect on blood pressure and antioxidant action.

✔ Phycobiliproteins: They have a strong antioxidant action and stimulate the immune system;

✔ Vitamins: A, D, E, C, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9;

✔ An entire arsenal of mineral salts and trace elements: These include potassium, calcium, iron, copper, chromium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, sodium, selenium, and zinc.

A study reported in the journal Hypertension has demonstrated the ability of a spirulina molecule (called SP6) to counteract arterial hypertension by dilating blood vessels.

It reduces the feeling of hunger thanks to its rich protein content and the presence of phenylalanine.
Other studies have shown that daily consumption, for a few weeks, reduces triglyceride levels.

It is also able to increase the level of good cholesterol (HDL) while decreasing the bad cholesterol (the much hated LDL).
